Development and Cultural Initiative Enugu is a non-governmental organization committed to improving the well-being of Enugu people by attracting foreign investments, development projects and facilitating skill acquisition for the youths and enabling technological exchange in different sectors of our local economy.
An initiative of Enugu indigenes resident in Italy and its dynamic returnees, the organization aims to harness the enormous potentials of Enugu in diaspora to foster stronger economic, educational, social and cultural ties with the host country, the third largest economy in the Eurozone.
Italy’s economic advancement and large industrial base, its famed universities and technical institutes as well as a robust service sector represents an untapped mine that can contribute to the transformation of Enugu State. We aim to promote mutually benefitting partnerships both at institutional level as well as with small and medium scale actors in the Italian economy across sectors including manufacturing, construction, agriculture and education to push Enugu State to the next level of its development.

Our Mission
To facilitate development that works for all, the poor and the rich, through knowledge and cultural exchanges between Italy and Enugu State, attract investments to grow the economy and provide skills trainings, particularly to youths to increase employability.
To positively promote cultural synergies between Enugu and Italy, through provision of Italian language courses, training on Italian cuisines and skills in the rich Italian manufacturing, construction and clothing sectors.
To create linkages between Italian universities and institutions of higher learning in Enugu through affiliations and exchange programmes.
To facilitate social investments in areas such as health, education and gender equality.
To support local organizations, community and faith-based organisations and other actors identify and collaborate with their counterparts in Italy for the purpose of advancing the development of our State.
To promote the spirit of patriotism amongst indigenes of Enugu state living across the 20 regions of Italy and very dynamic returnees, who received professional and educational formations from Italy and to encourage their participation in the affairs of Enugu state.
To serve as a rallying point for culturally sensitive development, a unifying factor and progressive agent in Enugu communities.
